I'm in Love....Help......found an AA truck
Howdy,I've just joined and posted in the Newbie forum...nice to meet you'all.
I'm in Love with a truck I've found.I found it hiding in a honeysuckle thicket.I remembered seeing it years ago in the same spot..but had forgotten it until I got into the rat rod crowd..Then I got to looking for my car or truck....That's when I remembered seeing this A model truck 30+years ago..And she was still there.
It's a 30 Model AA truck.Still has all of the body parts on it.Even has the original headlights. But a broken windscreen, and no side windows.Has original steering wheel and instruments,Seat frame.
Now for the bad stuff...no bed, tires,no bed,And is rust covered Completely....But no rust threw, I can tell.
I'm wanting to Rat Rod her...Channel,Chop latter on....lowered front, steel bed out back.
I don't however know what to offer price wise......I know nothing about what a truck in this condition is worth.I know that some price guides say about 300-600 for coupes etc in this shape....What are your thoughts ????
Is she only going to break my heart???

Seems like not much is there... Say something like 300. I know it's really low in price but who knows the guy may just wan't it off his property and might go lower. Sounds like it's not that great in shape and all so may work. If not then the worse that can happen is he will say no and give you a higher price. Anyways, welcome to CHR, you will like it here I am sure. There are lots of smart people here that will help you a ton.www.streamlineautocare.com

No problem. Those are sweet trucks man. I almost got a 33 Chevy truck over the summer but never did and wished I would have now. 30-33 and some 37's are my most favorite truck or vehicle out of anything. Get some pictures of this thing if you can and post them on here I wan't to check it out and see what kind of shape it's in.www.streamlineautocare.com

Yeah Techs idea is even better... Do that first THEN do what I said if that doesn't work. Most likely from the sound of it he will get rid if it if it's sitting like that. Well I don't know, you don't live too far from me and most rednecks I go to around here have messed up cars like that and won't sell them... They say they are going to fix them up and they never do or if they sell em then they wan't TONS of money for them.www.streamlineautocare.com

Also, the rule of thumb is to listen well to what he has to say. Sometimes the best cars are sold at low prices due to mis-offers. It sounds underhanded, but if he's not using it, it'll just rust forever. Be brutal. And always offer 1/4 of what your willing to pay as a first offer.Right engine, Wrong Wheels

Good advice.....
I'm wondering about the title. If it doesn't have one.....then what?I called the DMV,and they say they won't accept just a bill of sale...it must have prior paperwork.Maybe they are just full of beans..and I just got a yoyo..
I've heard of buying titles, but what do ya do about the vin number,or do models that early have'em on the car??

Bad Dog, I asked my dad about that too about how if a car has a title then how can I get one. He said you would have to find the last owner that had a title and then go talk to someone (forgot who) and you have to sign a bunch of stuff and get one. He said it's not easy. Also I hear someone on here say something about registering it in a state where you don't have to have a title on a car unless it's newer or something. Someone on here should help you with that. Put it up on another thread so more people will look at it.www.streamlineautocare.com

In NY, you can register a car '78 and older I belive with no paperwork other than the bill of sale, just have to get extra paperwork, I have to do it with my Falcon. You can get new titles from some place in texas for every state except callie. You don't know what you've got til it's gone

Yeah you can do everything everywhere else besides Cali. That's the only thing I hate about that place! Do you know the name of this place Matt? Sorry kind of dumb question because I am sure if you did you would have posted it but worth a try!www.streamlineautocare.com

Welcome to CHR. I think that you need to hook up your vacuum advance. At part throttle when cruising you have less air and fuel in each cylinder, and the air-fuel mixture is not as densely packed...
