hot rod wiring
I have a flatmotor 31 hiboy with 12 volt system utilizing GM internal regulator alternator, ford solenoid, and GM style ignition switch. With the ignition off (or just no key in) when the battery cutoff switch is turned on the volt meter starts to read.
I have one wire coming off the alternator going directly to the battery post on the solenoid. One wire from this same post going to the BATT post on the ignition switch. One wire from this same BATT post to the voltmeter. My coil wire comes through a ballast resistor to the IGN post on the ignition switch.
Can someone give me a clue as to what might be going on...thanks
