I saw a clean body older Jaguar at a salvage yard, before I started my project. Thought about it .......... but passed on it. My thought was to build it as a replacement for the family car.
I think a Jag or a mercedes would make a kewl ''cruiser'' updated with a GM drive train and suspension.
Like what was just said, anything is possible with the right tools. The only source of instructions is gonna be whatever your brain can come up with. :DQuote:

Well, I have an '83 Mercedes 240D and had plans of putting a 350 in but got bored of the project and gave up b4 it started ( buying a 350 that was actully a 267 kinda bumbed me out ). Search the forums here for like diesel to gas conversion, I put that thread up a long time ago but, has good information from Madgrinder ( MB technician ). Your car should have 4wl disc brakes and indapendent rear suspension so that should work good. Ford 302's I heard go in a lot easier.
Having lived in Germany for 6 years, Mercedes do not need a Chevy 350 to be fast  Mercedes and BMW battle for ownership of the left lane on the Autobahn.
Though the parts might be more expenseive, the fact that they should bolt in might save some of the costs. Why not look for a Mercedes V-8 to drop in there?
Just like our aftermarket, there is a pretty significant aftermarket for high performance Mercedes too. Do a Google search on Mercedes tuners, you might be suprised what you'll find.
It might be cost prohibitive, but it's something to think about
