Seats

Does anyone know of a good bucket style seat that I can find cheap at a junk yard? What kind of car or truck should I look for to get them out of? I was thinking of a ricer but I don't wan't the head rests on the seats or nothing like that. Any suggestions or info is greatly appreciated.

You mean like the headrest is part of the seat or where theres no headrest whatsoever? you'll want a seat that has the trac bolt to the floor rather than a trac that is part of the floor like some ricers such as 80's VW's. How about the seats from a 1993-1995 Chrysler Concorde, 1 with buckets, not the lower down model with split bench. There both power up and down ( front and rear of seat work indipendently if you lift only the front or back of the switch ), power recline and forward and back. There usally leather and most are grey.

Yeah that would be nice. And yes I don't wan't a headrest whatso ever because a head rest wont look so great in a truck wish a small rear window. I'll keep the concord in mind and see if I can find one. I wan't to see about a white or cream color ultra leather for the seats because there is a lady around here that does interior and does a great job so I don't mind what color the seats will be. A grey leather would look great too though but I want to go for the white even though it will be hard to keep clean.

The Headrest pulls right out like most any other car with a non attached headrest, pull it to the last click and keep pulling, it'll come out. Transmissions tend to fail with the concorde and LHS( which also has the same seats) so they are common in the junkyards.

Yeah I know they come out, but also some don't even have head rests but since they come out and I will get them reapulstered (sp) then I can just cover it. Thanks though man, I will keep my eyes open and go to some junk yards in about 2 or 3 weeks.

look at the 1993 trans-am seats. ive used them in 2 dif. cars and love them. hard to get into, but fit like a glove once you do.

Also try early Chrysler Laser or Dodge Daytona seats.

I've seen a few of these with removable headrests but also some with high backs that aren't quite so high back like those of a 280z.

They are easy to climb in and out of and some of the higher end Daytonas had power options in the seats as well as switches installed on the inside seat cushions. Which would be real slick in a Rod.

Alright cool man, I need to make a list of all this and look around. Power seats would be slick. Maybe I should steal em out of my dad's truck and then reapholster em and he won't know the difference, I will just say someone stole them. heh. That would save me some money.

Oh yeah and the concorde/ LHS seats have the power controls on the side of the seat.

Ok cool sounds good. Thanks csf, if I can even FIND any of these cars around here I will see what I like best. It may take me a while to pick seats out because I wan't them to be PERFECT and look sporty and not crapy and gay looking like they came out of some grandma car. Maybe I will get lucky and find a lamborghini or farari. heh. Yeah right!
