I rolled my Go kart today

I was driving down the road and took a curve too fast and I rolled it over on my arm and got banged up a little but didn't break anything, just got some road rash on my arm and leg. at least I now know the limits of the center of gravity for it, I'v had it on 2 wheels b4 but never had it go over. It's fun when it's on 2 wheels like in the movies ( I can do that but have to put it back down quickly or it would go over cause I can't hold it up ) but It ain't fun when it does go over.


It was the first time I had it out this season too.

Be careful silly... or this wacko mommy will have to come over an equip you with a padded helmet and an airbag deployment system on that cart ha ha! Seriously, glad ur ok and have fun!

I don,t see any fun in road rash that stuff is painfull .I laid down my 1100xs once I climb up onthe side that was up was doing ok till I hit the dirt on the side of the road then it was launch I felt like a human canon ball . make sure you keep that rash moist and clean.Take care and keep them wheels on the pavment

guess we need to eqiup ya with elbow pads for those corners..just like the bikers have on their knees........didn't yo momma teach ya to keep the shiny side up??...lol

I'm ok, and I won't be driving the go kart any time soon even though it still works the way it should.

Hey Matt,
You take it a little easier there so we can have ya around for a while longer.
Ok...now either slow down (right), or widen your wheel base. Get some wider low profile tires if you can, and see if that helps.
Move the center of gravity down as far as you can go.
Use some Aloe on the rasberries- bonehead. LOL

I could put spacers in the rear wheels to make a bigger track width and then maby I can fit in some flat bottom turf saver lawn mower tires cause I got the rounded bottom 8" 16x30's I think and then take the roll cage off to lower the center of gravity ( drives like a schoolbus now but with a shorter wheelbase ) and the roll cage causes that. Of course I'm gonna slow it down, but I won't be getting back in it any time soon. Oh and I'm not going to try to flip the go kart over again to see if the tires made a diffrence

Yeah I really don't need to push it that hard anymore, I wasn't wearing a helmet but I was wearing the seat belt and it was ajusted properly, without it, I may have been ejected outa the kart. I got reusable zip ties that are pretty big that I could zip tie my left hand to the steering wheel cause it's a 2 seater and won't tip to the riglt so that arm would be safe, if any such thing should happen again, I think I'm gonna use a helmet next time also. Yeah it deffenetly was a learnin experience.

Yeah, I thought about the zip tie after I posted it and, I don't like the idea of self amputation, I'm gonna see if I can make arm restraints that clip onto or strap onto the seat belt shoulder strap, shoulden't be to hard. I can make a safty net with some rope and time. I gots to fix the steering first though, 1 wheel points str8 and the other all the way right ( it goes outa ajustment even with normal driving ) so I got to ajust the tie rod ends till they both point straight but that isn't hard. I can put weights in the other seat to help prevent the tipping, I'm not saying bricks or anything but like those arm and leg straps, I could wrap them around the passenger side seatbelt and buckle them in.
