For a while, the bullet nose Stude starlight coupe was a hot car to build. Everyone build one that wanted to? I found a couple but can't seem to find any interest. In fact, I put up a post on a Studebaker board and in a month the only reply was someone who wanted a fender. I was just curious as I try to nab cars out of here if this one might move for me.
I like 'em. But that one looks pretty rough. I have seen enough around that would be a better start. Maybe I'm spoild here in CA.

It doesn't look so hot, but worst case it will need rockers and pans. Depends where they're known to rot - big difference in what's a good project in NY and the east, and what's too rough for the west coast crowd. There's a 55 2dr across from it that has all the floors in it and looks real savable, that and the '52 hardtop are already on my list.. this one I'm not so sure about. Haven't evaluated it really yet. It is the one with the wraparound back window, too.
Trends come and trends go. That's the problem with folks trying to do "different". Only the first to do something is really different, the rest are just expanding on a theme. I know dangeroustoy (that's his orange/flamed '32 roadster on the gallery link) has one he's in the early stages of, but you don't see near the excitement for them you once did. Like Pat says, I think those that want to get into them are going to be pickier since they don't have a lot of competition anymore.
Upstate I know where that stude is, but I know where there's a prime 53 stude and its sittiing in a bard about 6 miles from me. I've asked about a dozen times if it's for sale but I keep getting Not Yet. I'll keep trying.
