Are there any transmissions for the 429/460 beside the toploader and the truck types? I'd be perfectly happy with a 3-speed, but would prefer a 4-speed. Trying to find a toploader is tough, and the truck trannies all have granny gears in them.

Thanks for the link. Didn't find anything there, but posted the question. Have to spend some quality time with Google now.
I've still got a couple of Doug Nash 5 speeds, one is the non-synchro competition trans, the other is a 5 speed street version with sychros. I think Richmond Gear bought out Doug Nash, so they are still available. If you don't want one of them, then either Liberty or Jericho make 4 speeds that will live with the torque.
I appreciate it, but I think I'm going to go with a Tremec. www.darkhorseperformance.com They have reasonable prices, and I like the ratios better for my application. Of course, if a used Doug Nash is cheaper than a new Tremec I'd be stupid to not consider it.Quote:

Go with the Doug Nash 5 speed, I have one in the cobra behind a 427, I would never go back to a top loader. :toocool:
