What would be some thing that I could get my hubby who would like to eventually build a hot rod? You know something to get him started. I do not have a huge budget for this, unless I happen to win powerball tmorrow.

The first present my wife ever got me was a set of micrometers, I still have the to this day!!! Can't say the same for the wife!!! What does he have for tools?? Sears always has Craftsmen tools on sale, a good 3/8 drive socket set, some wrenches, and a small tool box would be a good place to start.
Had a girlfriend once bought me a drafting table, still have it, too. Can't say the same for the girlfriend!!!!
I like the subscription idea. Also see if there are any car events or cruise nights in the area, they are usually at or around restaurants. Take him out to dinner then to the cruise in.

I agree with the mag idea. Also at Wal Mart as I was looking at car mags, they had one called "How to build a Street Rod". That would be a good one to get also.
I suggest a good quality tool box with some tools and the pair of you hit a few swap meets and rod shows to pick up prices and ideas.

Thanks for all the great ideas. He is a great guy and deserves a great birthday after all of the setbacks we've had the past 3 years. Next week we celebrate #21, and we have not killed each other.
