I want to tuck the front wheels into the front fender a bit due to rubbing, there is plenty of room inwards. I know pole position make shorter uppers.
Is there a car involved here . . . or just control arms, a tire and a fender? It matters. Really, it does . ..
HI the car is a vicky (sp) it rubs when fully turned lock to lock and dips and bumps hope this helps.
thanks DEAN
Doesn't help much. I'm not trying to be contrary about this, but you still aren't giving any information to speak of. Tell us what you've got, or no one can answer . . . and we can't drag it out of you piece by piece.
I do not know what more I can add as far as info ? All I want to do narrow the track of the car so the tire does not rub on the fender lip, and at the same time upgrade from the stamped factory unit.
thank Dean
I may be waaay off base here but won't shorter lower control arms only shorten the bottom? Reminds me of an old front end alignment poster called crooked wheels. He He HE
I didn't excel in geometry in high school but somethin' sounds crooked here.
I like Streets idea. If ya' got 15's on it now put a set of 14''erz 'er 13" on it w/ low profile skins. ???
Well, how about the frame type? Original? Reproduction? If reproduction, who is the manufacturer? What kind of front suspension do you have? Mustang conversion? Corvair? Custom?Quote:

There are at least 25 shops that make frames and suspensions. Whithout some hint as to what you have, there's no way to answer the question.
Anyhow, if you shorten only the lower control arm, the top of the wheel will tilt out, and your problem will get worse.
You might want to see if you can get front wheels with less backspace to tuck them in closer to the chassis. Not cheap, but cheaper than four new control arms and a front end allignment.
Heidt's makes narrower upper and lower arms, they are 5/8" narrower per side. Seems it would be easier to get a different wheel offset and/or tire diameter.
