Just think, there was a day when each of these was proudly driven off the dealers lot by a pleased as $700.00 new owner. They fretted over the first scratch or dent. Washed it as often as they dared. Showed it off to all their friends. Ya just gotta wonder!!!!

Man Bob, you really know how to hurt a guy!:D The sad thing is there are thousands of them and there is no way to get to them. I see muscle cars and hotrods all over southern missouri and northern Arkansas but they won't sell, It's truely a shame.
It has always pissed me off when people buy this stuff thinking they will restore them , and dont have the money or know how , and they will never sell them so someone can bring them back to life.
These people know if they sell their precious hunk of junk that they will make the money off it restored instead of them never restoring these cars !!
They would let them rot , instead of some one else
giving them the TLC they deserve!!!

Reminds me of a guy who has two, yes I said two, completely rotted out Superbirds sitting in a lean to next to his house. He absolutely wont sell either of them, he says theyll really be worth something someday. One is possibly salvagable and the other has the bottom six inches gone around the doors and no floors whatsoever. Though if anyone cares to bug the crap out of him he lives in Enumclaw Washington, pretty small town so you could find the old fart.
It's sad to see so many nice cars at one time just rotting away. It seems as though people just don't care anymore.
It just breaks my heart to see so many once-fabulous cars just "rusting in peace"... there are alot of great projects out there, but sometimes they're just not accessable!
I think that cars have feelings, too....these poor cars probably think that no one loves them anymore! :(
Heck, I feel bad when I have to leave my little Corvair outside while we work on other projects in the garage... :rolleyes: :) :rolleyes: :)

You're not lying there man. It's not just musclecars either I saw a Dodge BROTHERS pickup in lanagan, Mo a couple of years ago. The whole area is just infested with old cars and trucks that nobody will let go of.
Another area with TONS of these cars is SE Kansas all around Columbus and Pittsburg. Beautiful, old cars that are great restoration candidates just sitting out in fields waiting for the tin worm to finish them off.

What really bothers me is people turning good cars into "yard art". Now theres a primo condition 28 model a pickup sitting on Cooks Hill Road in Centralia Washington, the gal wont sell it for anything. Four years ago the top was still good, now its rotted through and getting rained into, she still wont sell it.
Again theres an REO pickup that was turned into a rpu just down the road, there using it as yard art also. Mind you they wont part with it eitherbecause it just makes their front lawn quite "farmish" and rustic.
Its a crying shame Really. If you saved every car in yards, on the sides of roads and in fields, ther would be no room for ricers! Wait, hang on a second. How much cash do you guys have?
