In a town near prattsville there is a liquor store and beside it/ behind it there is a larger sized health care clinic, I look at these 2 places every time I drive through that town yet I have never noticed the car that is parked in the overgrown lawn of the liguor store, My grandfather pointed it out to me and he says it's been there for a long time, it's an old Jaguar, sitting in the weeds compleat condition, my grandfather says late 40's early 50's. Notta sport model but a 4dr lux model, I looked at it and it looks in good shape, black and grey exterior with tan interior, all glass including wing windows good. I'm going tomorrow to see who owns it and see if I can take it off there hands.

Matt, a little insight on building an old foreign car, you better have deep pockets, as parts are not cheap and hard to come by.
I was restoring a 1978 Mercedes 350SLC coupe and I needed some parts and used fender was over 500 bucks, front stainless bumper was over 1000 bucks, one headlight door was 350 bucks, and it was a very well running car just had some rust .
A tune up costed over 1600 bucks .

But best of luck if you get it , dont let me change your mind on what you want to build.

Spray

It's not somthing that I could pass up if I had a chance to get it, the body has surface rust but appears to have no through body rot/rust, does need a new taillight cover cause it's broke. compleatly Restored I'd estimate it to be worth a good 100K.

I hope you live up in the boonies, cause you seem to be collecting a lot of cars.

I live wayyy up in the stix but, if I had to get rid of the benz, I would.

I only have 2 cars now, the '51's raido works now, it mysteriously started working when I was charging the battery, I had it turned on ( diddn't know it ) but it works now so that's $225 I don't need to spend to get it referbed.

I now know what model the car is, it's a mid 50's MK 1. Me and my mom found out who owned the liquor store and hopefully the car too, it's ither his or the tennents in the appartment above in the liquor store building. I matched what the car looks like from the image of it in my head to a hot rodded 1956 MK 1 on ebay.

Kewl, Ive never seen a hot rodded Jag before.

That's not the actual car I'm looking at, that's 1 I found that it's pretty identical to, the 1 pictured is a 1956 Jag MK 1 hotrodded, Ford V8 with AOD tranny, that's what I remember from the Ebay auction. The 1 I'm looking at is still in the weeds and the only reason I don't have an actual pic of it is because I forgot my didital camera when I went to get sandpaper from the napa and price paint and find out who owned the liquor store. I know that the 100K is probably off but I thought it was late 40's early 50's and not mid 50's early 60's cause it retains an early 50's body style for american cars. I'd like to build it for my grandfather, I'll probably have time cause the '51's almost roadworthy and done for the year, I'd have time for the jag, IF I can get my hands on it.

That jag pictured above was at 8,500 If I remember right.

That would be something sweet as hell man and to do that for your grandfather would be cool and then he will help you out when you need it I am sure. How will you pay for it?

I'v decided not to ask about that old jag, b4 I diddn't get close to it and only looked at the driver side cause the other 1 was covered up. I looked closer and it has some bad front end damage on the passenger side. Yes it is possible to get sheetmetal and stuff for it but, the frame and suspension are probably damaged and parts are very pricey. I found a nicer car I'd like to find about, my grandfather knows the people that own it, it's a 1960 Chevy Bel Air, it has a good body and chrome trim but interior is shot. It's a 4dr. I think that it was just parked cause somtin little went wrong with it, they do that with their cars, in fact the feild the car is in is a gold mine for restorers/ rodders, must be 10 old cars back there but, many people don't even know there there ( except '60 cause that's right in the entrence ) that there there cause you can't see most of them until they mow the front which is once or twice a year. There is a simmilar car 25'-30' behind it but I can't tell what it is and I'm not tresspassing without permission cause there trailer is right across the road, We slowed way down to look at the Bel Air but never got out or stopped cause my grandfather knows them but we don't and don't want to make a bad impression and sacrafice any chance I have at the car. I hope it's a 348 TRI POWER.
