Help! Shipping A Car
What is the deal with shipping a vehicle within the lower 48.? I am a young guy with a love for hot rods and a limited budget.. Two things that sometimes don't mix so well together. But I'm trying to get a nice ride at a NICE price and all I can find meeting this criteria are cars in the middle of Nowhere, USA. Everytime I call up for a quote on shipping its almost half of the price of the car!!:(
Does anyone have any suggestions on budget vehicle relocation??

I shipped 2 cars to Colorado. Two different carriers. They picked up a 70 Camaro at my house for $850. The 73 Mustang I had to drive to the freight terminal in Massachusetts. That one cost $900 to ship.

How much do you consider expensive for someone driving multiple hundreds of miles to pick up, and then drive multiple hundreds of miles more to drop off 2+tons of metal without scratching, denting, breaking, or otherwise damaging it? Personally I spent the extra so that I didn't have to drive out and pick up the vehicle. They are pricey, but generally you have to get someone who is liscenced to transport across state lines. Call a tow truck company and ask them first. Then ask an auto transport place. You could try renting a U-Haul and car hauler, but loading it yourself is the bear.
