Swap in a Buick 455/TH400/Posi if he is a purist. That would be the most economically sound method.
Abe
I saw a roadster setup with a Buick 322 Nailhead, zoomie styled headers and a functional 6x2barrel intake. It ran real radical, but was set far too much forward in the engine bay but still ran very high 10's. If it had been set up properly, like the engine being reccessed into the firewall somewhat instead of being 10 inches in front of the firewall and the front end extended out in front of the rails it would have done better to be sure of.Quote:

As for a big ole 4000lb '53 Buick running in the 14's, I seriously doubt it, that nailhead would have to be hotter than hell and the buick would have to be setup and stripped down for purely race to get it to perform like that.
Though kudos to him about being anti-350. Theres nothing as plain jane at a car show that a 350.

Still Id rather see him run a 396 or 427, or something just a bit on the different side.
