Should be a fun summer with both cars up and running. I have one more summer of being a spectator it looks like. Dang.

The only time I might have a snag is when I want to run against him. He is an important part of my pit crew but I'm sure there are many others that will be more than happy to lend a hand when the time comes, so it really shouldn't be a problem. At least he will know what two 10' parachutes look like all opened in front of him. hehehe

Sounds like it could be a real match up of youth and exhuberance vs. old age and treachery!!!! Hope you have the video camera along for the first father-son match up, anxious to see that one!!!

There will absolutely be a video camera on that one. I'm in the process of picking up one of those fancy helmet cams also, so an in-car clip should be available too. He wants to paint his car the same yellow that is on mine, but it may not happen due to time restraints. We'll see.

I had a bracket on my old Super Gas car to mount a video camera, got some great shots of the car making passes with it. With today's technology and all the really great downsized cameras it would sure be fun to make a way kewl video of the car..... Maybe mount one in your son's car so we can all see a clip of those two big chutes on the back of the '60?????

EXCELLENT suggestion. Consider it a done deal! Knowing him, when my chutes come out in front of him, and I'm sure they will, he'll look the other way on purpose!

I had two heart attacts last year with no insurance so now I'm 90 K in the hole. had to go back to work. but I am still gathering parts I ve got a 23 T bucket, most of the parts were free, body, hacked up model a frame, tube axle with harley front spokes SBC 2 x 4 intake, 4 carbs, new accel dist, old olds rear, M/c , old steering gear box. aluminum T 10 4 speed I bought the blueprints from CCR and build a new chassis, 2 x 3 tube stretched 6 inches, lincoln disc brake rear, new front spring, caddy tilt telescope column, corvair steering etc. I have some motorcycle calipers and m/c for the front. have to find some rotors and fab mounting brackets.then it's time for final assy. A glass 32 body is up in the home depo racks top shelf in the shop(16 foot side walls so i got a lot of storage space) . I got a front susp from the local crusher for a C note from a 86 jag sedan. 11 1/2 rotors spindles. a arms etc, I'll probably use on the 32 with a earlier jag rear. it just takes time. I am recovering ang abe to do a little more each day

I have my car wired now, starting and rolling down the road also!!:D All the bells and whistles work that I have installed. Headlight pods and new primer and she will be going to our local show this saturday for her debut, that is going to be a blast!!!:D

well i got a new truck this year its a 67 IH 1200 3/4ton 4x4 its on a 74 runing gear etc....got it for $400 i am puting a 304 init it came with a locked up 345 T-98 4 speed np205 T-case D60 rear D44 front with 4.10's not sure on the condition of the rears but going to check i have the engine out and ready to put the new one in when i get it cleaned and painted etc........anyways heres a pic.:D :) ;) hoping to have it going by the end of the month.

Laid down some pinstriping; a dual line 3/16" on the bottom and 1/8" on the top, with a 1/8" space. It doesn't show up too well on this pic but I think it really accents the stance. It makes the car look longer, IMO; which is good because the car shrank about two feet in every direction with the flat black paint.

This pic also shows the rear spoiler, which I'm particularly proud of; it's off an '88 'stang LX, my first chop/channel job. I took 6 13/16" out of the middle and glassed it back together.

Looking good, Brickman. Sure is fun to get them out and finally drive them after all the work!!! Decided on color for the outside yet??

I like Mustang II fastbacks, I was an Engineer at ford in their day and thought they were and ok car for their time, The first gas crisis. more safety requirements fuel economy, etc. the M II has the most popular hot rod suspension since the Ford flathead with hyd brakes came out in 39.. a 9" rear can be a direct bolt in if you can find a 57 or 58 ford and the granada 11 inch rotors bolt on> The mustang II fast back was built in mexico after 78 and they had larger brakes and more horsepower from the minimum smog mexican 302. than the older usa cars yours looks neat

This is my first project, and she's a twenty-foot wonder. But she's a fun little monster and she su-u-u-u-re turns heads. Especially after I slipped a couple of washers under the cut-out plugs. :cool: I've got her threading the needle between irreverent and disrespectful.

I can't wait to put it into the Mustangs Northwest Roundup this year. A couple of years ago I heard they put the II's into the "Miscellaneous" category, along with the Pintos and pickups. I'll freakin' show 'em "Miscellaneous." :D
