The early 50’s Hudson was once three times NASCAR Champion. Straight 8 and dual carbs, they were streamlined, sat low, and had plenty of power. enjoy

I think the link is wrong
um.. okay.. yawn.
Thanks, fixed it
What a great old car, good too see someone keeping it alive and giving it some tlc.
That's an awesome Hudson, thanks for sharing. It brought back memories from my childhood. When I was a very little boy Daddy had a Hudson of some kind. All I remember is the enormous back seat and my feet not reaching the floor.
Also brought back memories of one my Uncles (one of Mama's brothers) having a bunch of big ass cars in his back yard and also in Grandma's back yard.
I think he bought them cheap and fixed them to re-sell. Alot of old Mercury's (late 40's, early 50's) Seems like there was a Hudson in Grandma's yard and also a couple of old Checker Cabs. He also had a barge he was converting to a houseboat back there. He used an engine and transmission from one of the Checker Cabs to power the driveshaft and propeller on the barge.
Memory is a lil fuzzy, but I think it was a Continental engine.
Thanks for the memory jog.
Car had loads of interior room. Figured true enthusiasts would appreciate it.
After reading a bit on the old Hudson's I found that the Commodore 8 in the video has a Twin H six cylinder swapped into it.
The Hudson Hornet was the Nascar winner with the 308 cu.in. six.
Here's a nice feature video on the old Hornet;

Used to go to a wrecking yard in Ukiah when I was a teen. The grumpy owner with a crew cut and cigar would harass me because of my long hair (70's) saying "are you a boy or a girl! . When I would buy a chevy part he would go into a rant about his Hudson Hornet being the best car ever build and why would anyone waste their time with a chevy or ford. There were a couple of his Hudsons parked in the yard. I miss running into to characters like him, makes me laugh when I think about it.
Ya gotta watch this...
