Ironic, but sad/unfortunate event at car show yesterday
Went to a local car show yesterday, Saturday. Weather was very nice, lots of cool cars. It was held at the local flea market grounds that is only open on Sunday. There is a long straight road coming into the flea market entrance from the main road. It is not uncommon for folks to do a burn out as they leave the show grounds.
As the awards were going on they had come to the award for "Car Most Likely to Do a Great Burn Out Leaving the Show." Here's the irony. A guy in a very nice late model Mustang was leaving and took off doing a spectacular long burn out. Then suddenly we heard a loud BANG. He had lost control of it and nailed a concrete light poll pedestal then bounced over and tagged a concrete barrier wall. :( fortunately he wasn't hurt. Then after the awards people were leaving, we all drove past him and his smashed car with fluids leaking onto the pavement and the fire trucks pulling up. I saw him walking over to the firemen telling them he was OK. I have talked with him a couple times. It is/was a very nice car, ran low, low 10s at the track. Has a centrifugal supercharger and I believe a Coyote engine. I really wonder what he will tell his insurance adjuster?
