Finished my Model A

It's good to see you posting again, but gotta admit your title, "Finished My Model A" is confusing since back in 2017 and earlier you posted all kinds of pictures and info about what seemed to be your "finished" car. Seems like it had a gold leaf name at the window before? Now I know that they're NEVER really finished, but did something happen that caused you to make some major changes? Just curious, and hopefully with the vaccine you'll be cruising to the burger joint again soon!

As for posting pics of this car back in 2017, I was still sorting things out. I haven't posted for several years now and figured that in the last four years many people would have joined this forum and this would be new to them. Just trying to create interest for all the newbies. sorry if I stepped on anyone's toes. then again, a lot of younger people think 60's and 70's cars are old hot rods when I can remember them sitting brand new in the dealer showroom...... Back in 69 I bought a brand new 428 cobra jet mustang with a/c for $4018. Have you priced one lately?

I don't think you stepped on any toes. Just was a question as many of us recognized the car and we were also glad you took time to share some pictures. I also remember a new "71" Shelby Mustang sitting at the Ford dealer selling for that same money in 1973! Still no one wanted it! Go figure!! LOL.

We have had some new members in the last 4 years. Not sure how many joined or how many are still here. Not many seem to enjoy these cars like they used to. Maybe some of us will be pulling the v-8 out and putting batteries in? 8-(

You stepped on no toes, it was just a head scratcher to those who've been around and remembered your posts from before, when you were looking at a few "final touches". I'm not too far behind you and remember those new car prices too! A buddy had ordered a new Corvette convertible in '66 - $3675 as I recall! He had to cancel the order, but carried the handwritten receipt as a memory.

As I commented recently on another forum. I can drive my Hemi powered truck about 400 miles, stop for gas, get a snack, take a bathroom break and be back on the road for another 400 miles in 15 minutes or less. Until electric cars can do that, they are not practical for the large majority of folks that don't live in an urban setting.

And as another poster pointed out (on another forum), if everyone with an internal combustion car woke up tomorrow and had a new Tesla in the driveway for free, there is simply not enough generating capacity available now or in the near future to charge all of them. This is just one of the 800 lb gorillas that none of the electric advocates want to discuss.

As to outright performance, I will concede that to electrics. 100% torque at zero rpm is hard to argue with. As to the aesthetics (IE no sound), no thank you, unless you just want to run over a lot of blind people and children. BTW - that was sarcasm. I have no desire to harm blind people or children.
