A fellow I know who happens to be one of those wannabe outlaw types bought a Lincoln Continental for his wife back in the 80's. The car was a real lemon. Constantly in the shop and nobody could get it right. This was before the lemon laws came about so he decided to take matter into his own hands "outlaw style".

He took the car out on a country road, made sure no one was around and "accidentally" set it on fire hoping to collect the insurance. As he related the story to me, " I had just got the d@#% thing burnin' good when along comes a #$%@%^# good Samaritan with a fire extinguisher and put it out! So now it's still a piece of @#$% that's burnt under the hood!" I couldn't help but laugh at him.

Hope you don't ever need the extinguisher.

That reminds me of a really hard working Mexican fellow in So. Calif. in the late 60's. He'd always wanted a Conny and finally had saved enough to buy one and it was a lemon, the dealer had it more than he did. He stuck it on a trailer and drug it all over the place with a sign in big letters, LEMON. Ford had, maybe still does an assembly plant in Pico Rivera so he drove it up on the front lawn late one Sunday night and set it on fire. I don't remember any legal trouble, but Ford ended up giving him a new Conny.
