Channeled

G'Day All,

Although I have admired Hot Rods (and any other customised cars for that matter) over the years, I never thought of owning one. Well all that has changed. I'm a new member having signed up not more than 23 seconds ago and plan to ask some really basic questions. To prove it here is the first one. I hear rods described as 'chopped and channeled'. I know what 'chopped' means, however, what does 'Channeled' refer to?

Channeled means lowering the body over the frame. It's done by cutting out the floor and lowering the body then welding the floor back in.

Means the body is dropped over the frame rails usually anywhere from 2 to 4 inches from stock....

I had to ask the same questions to the guy I bought my truck from. This forum is great for help and lingo, welcome aboard
