What gear ratio?
Rebuilding the rear axle for my 40 Studebaker build. 350 Olds engine, some performance upgrades but basically tame, and a 200R4 trans. 73-4 Camaro 8.5 rear. These old studes were a light car, 3300 pounds on the title. I'm sure the new drivetrain drives that up. Not looking to drag race, just a quick cruiser, limited hiway. Also going to posi. I'm thinkin 3:73? Thanks.

3.73 sounds like a good match for the engine and trans.
That being said, you probably want to keep in mind your tire size. cam RPM range and whether it's going on long interstate trips or be used primarily as an around town car and fine tune your selection from there. There are a bunch of on line calculators to help you figure the RPM at different speeds.

If you get a determined rpm you want to be cruising at a certain speed, here is a really nice tire height chart for when you are trying to find a certain size tire for your build.

Here is 1 link with several calculators on it. I like using their RPM calculator because it shows the RPM with over drives and without.

3.73 is right on the money.
