Solved... it was an airflow issue. Installed flexfan & Clutch and stock shroud. Running at a consistent 195 with AC on high. Thanks

Welcome to CHR! Looks like you're from NY City, my assumption from the NY, NY location in your profile. Is this an AC system on a hot rod, or a factory system? What's the problem you're having? Most independent repair shops have the expertise to troubleshoot your system.

I had the same issues with pretty much the same engine setup. I ran 200-220 and would overheat at a stop with no air flowing except from the fans. Wetter Water lowered the temps about 10-15 degrees. Still would overheat at times. I upped the electric fan from 1200 CFM to 3000 CFM and it seemed to help. I ran the car without the engine compartment skirts in the summer and that helped more except when the flowing air came straight from the front or rear. I was running a conventional carburation system. I put the new engine in with a Holley EFI and computer controlled timing. Once the timing was setup right. The temps were down to 160-180. I read somewhere that condensation in the oil needs higher than 180 to evaporate so I raised the T-stat to 185 ish and them temps settled at 185-190 in the cooler season. I set the controller on the EFI to provide two stages of fan speed b based on the temps. In Minneapolis we cruise 3-4 hours a day at Back to the 50’s with the air conditioner on in 95 degree ambient heat. Temps ranged from 186-193. I had also added louvered side panels to help with heat vac.

I had a similar problem. When I turned on the air conditioner, there was a very unpleasant smell in the house, as if a chicken had been fried. I wouldn't say I liked the heat, so it was uncomfortable to be in the place when the AC broke. An old friend of mine advised me to contact an air conditioning service company at https://www.airconservicing.org/type-of-aircon-service/ . I called a technician to my house. He came very quickly and handled the problem efficiently. Now the air conditioner works like new. The unpleasant smell is gone. All in all, I am satisfied with their work.
