I suggested the Dakota front clip and 4.7 because of the success I've had with my 04. the 4.7 I have runs like a scalded dog and if I'm not careful at a stop it'll break the rear end loose in a heartbeat.I think the hemi idea is great, just more expensive. The only drawback to the Dakota front clip is the 6 lug wheels but I believe that can be fixed with earlier spindles. For wheels I'd take the centers stock steelies, 16" I think, and mate them with later model 7" or 8" wheels.

The '87-91 Dakotas have 5x4.5 bolt pattern and the rotors will interchange with the 6 lug ones up through '96 I think. There is aftermarket support for bigger rotors, etc on the Dakota spindles, too, I think.

As for wheels, I'd definitely go bigger than 16....more like 18x8" front, 20x10" rear. With the original rustic paint, some Detroit Steel artillery wheels would look pretty sweet....yeah, I know some of you don't like the bigger rims....LOL!! But I do!!
