We went after the paint to see if we could bring it back and it didn't do too bad. We clay bar'd the hood and then I used a wool pad with medium cut and then a foam waffle pad with fine cut. After that a coat of Meguiers car wax and it turned out pretty good.
I think I have a new plan for the Z28
1 to 10?
I'd say about fifteen.
It best have a pool or you ain't gonna be cool!
Wasn't that your high school yearbook photo Randy???:eek::LOL::LOL::3dSMILE::D:HMMM:
Christian has been getting a little carried away with the clay bar  I got the hood buffed out and one front fender, next in line is the door which will be a good flat panel for him to start on. I better babysit him for a bit teaching him to how to use the buffer on body lines so not to burn through paint.
He's getting it! It looks like you better at least put some air in those tires. They're going to be really square.
I got Christian buffing, I'm a little nervous about it but he seems to be careful about pressure and wheel direction on the high risk paint burn areas. I'm not going to lie, it's kinda nice to see him really get interested in this and it helps take some work off of my shoulders. He's already talking about bringing it to the local car shows which will be fun. I also got some air in the square tires for you Ryan:LOL:
Looks like you have a real budding gearhead! We need all of those that we can get.
It's good to see him having fun and enjoying the work. It should give him a real sense off accomplishment.
Christian got the Z28 shining about as good as it's going to get. I need to repaint some silver on the bottom of the doors and re paint the rims but it sure did clean up good for the most part. I'm going to call my paintless dent repair guy and have him take out as many dings as he can. Those 80's drivers were not careful opening their doors. He's as proud as a peacock of it.
He should be proud of it! He did a great job. Should be a fun car to own also.
Way way cool. The staying with it until the job is "done" and seeing the end result is probably one of the best motivators for future projects. That's one proud looking kid.
