Thanks, I think so too. Now I got a buddy who's trying to sell me his 82 Z28  He says it only needs a battery. Long story short , it's been sitting in a shed for about 5 yrs and he says it's in perfect shape, just needs a battery. It belongs to his fiancee and she would like it gone. If it's as nice as he says, I may try to flip it.
With today's fuel, you had best expect to be removing and cleaning fuel tank, and replacing sending unit and fuel pump.
I should be okay then because this fuels 5 years old lol.
I gotta Check this whole thing out yet but I'm not sure there's much of a market for these cars yet.
With new sheet metal available to do a split bumper conversion, it could be a good start on a project for someone. I think 82 was the last 2nd gen.
I really thought about buying a 74-82 and cloning a 70-73. You'd have to change the rear quarters to make it look right IMO. I can't believe the 70-73s are bringing the money they are. It's only because I want one again. Haha
I don't know how the GS keeps getting over looked. Probably just because I always had so much stuff torn apart for a resto already. I'm trying to stay on this path though. Get the 40 together, then get the body off the frame on the GS so I can find out how much work I'm in for.
The 82 is the first year for the 3rd gen so no cloning for it. Now I'm not sure what I'll do if I get it. As stupid as it sounds, I may sell the T/A and keep the 82 till my 71 is finished, then sell it. Tomorrow I'll change my mind again.
A 74 would be the best option for a clone because it has the correct back window for it.
I'm not going to look for anything else and try to stay focused. I have the same mind changing problem as you. It drives my wife nuts.
