I have a Ford transmission in my 1926 T. I bought a set of gauges and didn't think that the tranny has no speedometer cable. What do I need to make it work?

You don't mention they type of transmission but a good tranny shop would be able to tell you if it is even capable of being converted to a mechanical cable. If it is chances are it will probably be pricey.
Another alternative would be the cable-X....again a bit pricey and I've heard mixed reviews about them.

The last option would be to bite the bullet and just buy an electronic speedometer. I got an auto meter a while back and am very happy with it (love the fact it can be calibrated by just pushing a button.
Yes I was in the same position as you on my last build.
.
If its a electric speedo you could use the skydrive from Classic instruments, not cheap but pretty cool

The other option is plug in a cheap ol' gps and watch the speedo on that until you save the dough to fix it later. Best of luck
The tranny is an a4ld Ford. The speedometer that I bought is electronic. I bought the pulse generator for a Ford not thinking the tranny didn't have a cable opening. I will look at the sites. Thank you for the feedback.
I did the "Sky Drive" deal. works just great, no worries about the proper gear in the tail shaft.
Works a treat as my friends down under like to say!
A4Ld, should have a built in pulse generator, just have to figure the wiring, it shows a 16 pulse sender

hopefully I am guessing the right years of your trans...........
i'm sorry the tranny is a 1993 out of a Ford van.
Chuck, you got me intrigued by this, as I have never owned one of these trans. yes the vehicle speed sensor was mounted on the rear axle. Not sure why Summit shows that adapter as fitting that trans, there is a toothed cog on the rear gear assembly. your problem now becomes how to duplicate that for the speedo sensor that you have. If you are creative, you might try to cut grooves in the outside edge of a brake drum to duplicate this and then mount the sensor on the backing plate inside the rim to read it........A little out there, but may be the cheapest way out. If not just use a Garmin GPS with the speed display.............
Autometer sells GPS senders also.
