what to do paint or gold leaf

last one i did i used HOK gold and some .02 gold flake.. i looked on ebay for gold leaf yes its imatation gold 5.5" sheets, there is a lot more to it then painting but it all starts the same the prep work has to be 100% with the surface.one guy I was talking to said real gold would be about 15k to do it i wanted to do it so it looked like a distressed antique picture frame. i have been doing kustom paint art on bike for about 14 yrs... so anyone out there ever try to distress anything what did you use and technique did you use to achive it. the casket is 9ft long 22 "high fiberglass
