That is great news!
It's been a long road for her.. she'll be a doll in her new make-up!
Nothing like a trip to the Beauty Salon to brighten a Lady's Life. :D
Who did you find to give her the make-over
I'd prefer not to say at the moment. We are are finalizing everything I'm wanting done to it & am still waiting on a box of parts to show up. When the parts arrive I'm to make the call to send the trailer to pick her up. I'm hoping that happens this week. When the work starts there'll be pictures and then I'll let everybody know who's doing it.
But I can tell you this, she's going to need sun screen because of the "sunshine" of the state :D .......joe
OOOOoo.. could it be Don Itoldyouso? He's in the sunshine state! LOL..
ARGHhhhh There was a guy that Don visited once in a while.. he used to be on here too! But for the life of me, I cannot remember his handle or name.
This may turn into "Guess the Beautician" - -
with extra soft hands?
Could be, because I've seen pictures of some of the oogly mange covered hyena's he's saved & that were transformed it to things of beauty. The current 48-53 Chevy Panel project he's doing, he had to replace almost the complete lower 2ft of the truck. I think he said he had over $5,000 in sheet metal already & he wasn't sure if he needed more or not...joe
Marge is waiting on the truck to picked her up hopefully in the next 7-10 days...

Marge looks ready to travel.. oh, and I see you've got a seat ready for me!:LOL::LOL:
Cool! Glad to see your truck coming back to life, Joe. How do you think until she rolls back into your driveway?
Yep she's got her travelin' shoes on for the trip south.
And stop on by anytime your near by.
Always an empty chair & a cold drink handy.
I was told it'll late summer or early fall possibly. He also told me that there are times that jobs like mine do & have been done sooner then the regular work at his body shop. I figure if I get it back by Sept/Oct I'd be delighted.
While talking to him, I let him know Marge is ready & he replied " I'm just as excited as you are. I've never done a bus/panel like yours before".
We've talked about different idea's to do to it but nothing is really final except for the drive train & that we want dual AC/Heat in it. hell even the color is still in the air, but I think I'm going w/the original school bus orange.....joe
Crikey!
Not another one in school bus yellow!
They'll very soon be as common as belly buttons; everyone will have one...
(Just kidding ya Joe, or as 34_40 would say; "Just pokin' the bear...)
We did AmeriCARna in New Plymouth earlier this year and there were two yellow buses there.
Then Beach Hop...two yellow buses there too!
We'd saved the (unweathered) glove box door to colour match, the man from the paint-shop waved his spectrotechnographometer thingy over it and said "That's a recognised colour."
"Oh. So what's it called?"
"School bus yellow."
Now who would have thought that?

And hey; it's good to think that progress is coming...looking forward to seeing the results.
Good luck mate!
(When it returns you can gorge yourself at Ted Drew's on frozen custard; you'll have my blessing!)
:) :)
YEPPPPPPPP, school bus yellow/orange might as well go w/the stock color since it was truly a school bus at one time. As far as Ted Drew's, mmmmmm, I don't know it's a toss up. We also enjoy Oberweis Ice Cream, family owned & they get their milk products that they use from local farmers & it's GOOOOOOOOOD stuff............joe
So glad to see Marge is moving forward!
Looks like marge will hold a lot of friends for a part when she's done! Also can't wait to see this one start.
