So, it's been a while since I posted any progress on the 69 GT500 Shelby, figured I would do a quick one now.
Drivetrain is back in and running (although I blew the 40 year old heater core on my first drive around the property :rolleyes: ). Car now has color (original Grabber Orange), and started the wet-sand and buff on the fender this morning (no, they are not done yet :D ). Next comes the tedious task of reassembly, I hope I remember where everything goes :HMMM:

Where it goes isn't half the problem. Where you put them so's not to loose them thats the problem

PS---The screws go in the screw holes, the bolts go in the bolt holes, some of the bolts have nuts on them!!!! That should alleviate any doubt about hardware!!!!!:whacked:
Glad to see the progress pic's, Bill. I was a little worried when you put up that 'project for sale' post a while back, and hoped that you'd keep it and do it right instead of having it get away from you. Looking good!
Love the color... and I agree with Charlie on the need to find the parts before figuring out where to put them. I'm at that stage myself. I have many bags of parts and hardware to sift through.
I know where all the parts are, and even where they go. This was not my first restoration (although it could be my last), even remembered to put the tape labels inside the plastic ziplock bags so when they fall off I still know what each item was and where it came from :D .Quote:

We did the same thing on Dustin's El Camino Bill. It's funny how over time the many screw and little parts get shuffled here and there and still get mixed with other items. We labeled everthing with a label maker. Overall it all went well though.

Awesome looking Shelby! I know what these guys are saying about finding the parts during a long project. :) Haha
