no hood springs on 30s chevy at least non I ever had
yep and not for any 49to51 hood springs . i open my 1935 motors did not see any thing like that as a tool ?looks like some thing to hold them old steel rims with wooden spokes to work on them some tool came with car like tire tools ?tool kit ?. the teeth look to small to hold and front end coil spring ?
I think it's the adjuster for either the carburetor belt or the muffler chain........:whacked::whacked::whacked:.
Removing the lids from bumbul jars
I think it's a kniffeling pin adjuster - used to tighten the doogel bearings
here i was thinking it.s to pin a ford guys ears back ???
Well I showed it around the cruise last night, and nobody there knew either although someone suggested it looked like it might be something that clamped to the bumper (as part of something else). While we looking at it someone held it just right and you could just faintly see some part numbers on it:
Type C
B12176 (on the larger stationary part)
C12175 (on the moveable jaw)
I’ve done some searches but come up blank with those numbers.
I’m beginning Pat may be on the right track however LOL.
you gonna paint it flat black and hang it in your man cave now? hahahahaha
have you tried posting the pictures on any other pre 40 Forums?
looks like there is a recess around the bolt place to stick i poll ? i would go along with the bumper deal. like part of a old tow rig .tow turck ? some thing not car at all like some thing chevy made for the military for a jeep ? did gm put there name on parts??
