many years ago i work for a guy. as the kids say .. back in the day.. took a new chevy van and pie choped it . it was in van custom mag or some thing .was the baddest thing around in the mid to late 70s
Shag-O-Lushest in the van world.
Ah, yess; the day. I traded my '69 Chevy 4x4 for a '69 Dodge A100 shorty that was lowered (with blocks in the rear and flipped leaves in front (bad deal, that)); had walnut and maple paneling, and gold shag carpet. It drove like a drunk squirrel, but it looked good, sitiin' still.:LOL:
When we bought our house, we couldn't qualify with two car payments, so we sold the van and kept the '68 Chevelle SS396.
I think one of my girlfriends had a van back in the 60's......:LOL::LOL: But, as the saying goes, if you remember the 60's you weren't there!!!!!:whacked::whacked::whacked:
love the drunk squirrel.. we had a 79 chevy van with the.. House of Shag.. job done to it. that thing on ice was a joy to drive .it was almost new and i just about put it in a big big ditch.i past someone.roads did not look bad.i went to get back in the lane dam thing look like friday night at the dirt track i never want to get a chevy van that far sideways in my life time
I went thru that too. MIne was an early 60s Econoline with a 289 and C4 stuffed into it. It one of the shortest ownerships and quickest "what was I thinking" period I ever had.
Wish now I had kept the Radir wheels and straight axle though
.
one thing about those early econoline straight axles---they used them under a lot of tri 5 chevy gassers
