hope you all have a good trip. would be nice to be there! pete
Sittin' here waiting for the thunderstorm cell to migrate away to the NE. Had a text from a friend already down in the Springfield area saying how beautiful the weather is there, but a mile back on a gravel road with rain coming down and having spent nearly all day getting things cleaned up for the trip it's a bit frustrating.... We may alter our route and head due south from here instead of heading into the city to catch the interstate. Rain seems to be stopped here now...
Hiboy + rain = A mess.
Roger, hope the rest of your weekend is full of sunny skies.
Mike
It's just water Rog, it ain't gonna shrink !
Get on the road buddy, it'll all wash off.
Hope you have an enjoyable and safe trip Roger! (and everyone else!)
Had a good time. The trip down was uneventful, other than hitting the traffic jam 2 mile from our I44 turn, and idling toward the junction for about 20 minutes. The good thing was we had the air going, and the temp stuck right on 186 head temperature the whole time, which was a very pleasent surprise. I think that there were 2132 registrations, which means something over 2000 cars there this year - a great turnout! Hooked up with Dennie (sg4356) both Saturday and Sunday, but once again missed Ken and his grandson. In hindsight we should have traded cell phone numbers.....
I thought that I had my crank fuel curve all dialed in, but we suffered through hard hot starting all weekend - thought we were going to be calling for a battery jump Saturday when we were headed out to dinner, but let it set for ten minutes and it finally cranked with WOT to clear the fuel. We sailed back today with a good tail wind, cruised smooth 70mph and above all the way. Tonight I backed out about 15% of the crank fuel above 143F, interpolated to the end point and it seems much happier starting. Will play with it in the mid range, above 93F but below 143F tomorrow, once it's cooled down overnight.
Will get some pictures posted in the next day or so, once I have time to get them off of the camera.
We were there on Sat from about 10 to 1. Looked for you Roger, but didn't see your car. I don't know what the attendance numbers were though the parking areas were as packed as usual. Overall my grandson and I thought it was a great show with many top notch cars and trucks. I don't believe there were as many rat rods as there was last year and it seemed as though there more trucks than previous years. The later models that were there were, for the most part, well done and as I stated before the amount of Fords in Fords was a welcome sight. All in all it was a great event, but I think the vendor participation was somewhat off from previous years.
Glad ya had a safe trip Rog.
I know you'll get the hard start problem resolved B4
ya fire it up for the trek out to LARS.
See ya in 15 days, not that I'm countin or nuttin !!!!!!
Some of the pictures we took.
More pictures
And some more
Here's a link to the pictures I took Saturday and Sunday. Sunday's included a stroll through the award winners corral - one missing that should have been there (IMO) was Dennie's (sg3546) Deuce (which I failed to get a picture of!?!), but they picked the orange 5W Coupe with the silver frame over his roadster, and one factor was that the coupe had the NSRA Safety 23 sticker which is apparently a "tie breaker" factor for some of the people selecting. If anyone wants higher resolution files of any of the pictures I can maybe e-mail them to you.
