Anybody going to the JalopyShowdown in PA this weekend?

I haven't heard of that one, but it looks like a lot of fun. Unfortunately I always go to cruisin' ocean city this weekend, but if there is even less 30's hot rods there this year and more diesel pick ups blowing smoke and late models I might consider checking this out next year instead! Thanks for the heads up.

I wish Cruisin' Ocean City brought the cars that York does. It's still a fun event just not enough 30's cars. It is fun to watch people get pulled over by bicycle cops though. Mostly for burn outs. Some kids in a newer Mustang got sucked in by the water sprayed on the street. I saw the cop just behind the whole time he was doing it and when I rolled by them they were all laughing until I told them a cop was pedaling up to them . I saw two other cars get pulled over at the same time for the same thing both with hot pink rear wheels so clearly they set out to burn though a set of tires. I got stuck in traffic 4ft behind an 80's s10 blazer. I could tell he was locking up for a smokey burn out and when the light turned sure enough. I wasn't happy about that one, but I couldn't get out from behind him . The cruisin' part of the show may have started to wear on me a little, but there is still a lot of nice cars. I had thought we might make it in the '35 this year so I guess we'll just have to go again...maybe in October

Much to my regret i didn't go to the Showdown. An auction occured on sat that had metalshaping tools i needed and i went to that.
Theres tons of great pics on the hamb if you visit there. OC doesn't do much for me as i am more of a traditional guy and blown camaros doing a smoking burnout has little appeal. The Showdown is special, if you ever get a chance do the Hot Rod Reunion in Bowlin Green. I've seen original indy roadsters parked beside sectioned shoebox fords. The obvious difference between the events is at the HHR and the Showndown none of the cars are for sale.

Would have loved to made the Showdown just for the metal shaping. But this dang shop has a ball & chain attached to my leg !
