I have a 99 5.7 vortec out of an escalade with engine wire harness.I'm putting it into a 69 Chevy C-10 truck. Where can I get info on how to wire just the needed connections to make it run and interface to old dash instraments ?

You already have the harness and ECM, so you're looking for someone to modify your existing harness to interface with your truck. I can't vouch for this guy in any way, as it was just a quick keyboard search, but he advertises doing that - Programming Services I know there are others out there, cause the guys with Jeeps are dropping modern EFI units into off-road only vehicles, and sending the ECM/harness off to get it "reduced" to eliminate un-needed features.

It will never ever hurt you to buy on Ebay the Factory Service Manual & electric sub version for the donor vehicle your using.

I can vouch for the guy in Roger's link, he is very well respected on many of the GM forums I frequent. Another good source for information to help you is at LS1Tech.com, especially the 'Conversions & Hybrids' section, I hang out there daily. If you visit the 'Conversions & Hybrids' section be sure to read the threads called Stickys (in yellow) at the top of the board. If you aren't afraid of wiring, the harness isn't too hard to modify yourself to work as a 'stand alone' harness, it's simply a matter of removing the wires not required such as EGR, VATS (vehicle anti-theft) rear oxygen sensors, oil level, etc, etc. You didn't mention if you had the ECU that came with the engine/wiring harness, hopefully you got it as well. Keep in mind the ECU will have to be programmed to delete the sensors and systems that were removed in the wiring harness modification. An example, if VATS isn't deleted from the ECU, the engine will never start and run.

Another bit of advise, there are several Ebay sellers that offer to modify your harness, be VERY CAUTIOUS, there are known issues with some of these on the GM forums, charging hundreds of dollars to modify your harness only to get it back butchered beyond repair.

Question for you, what are you going to use for a fuel pump?

Last, you're probably not going to find a harness modification that will interface to your 1969 C-10 dash instruments (my brother has a '70 C-10).

It doesn't hurt, Gary, but he's still going to have to have a qualified programmer tweak the ECM to remove unused features, including anti-theft, vehicle ID interlocks, etc, and most of the good ones include stripping the harness in the base price. More info can't hurt, but it's not going to be the answer here unless a guy knows the programming too.

Roger-I give everyone tons of credit if they have the info at hand and with the web searches available these days like with you doing some if not all the programing on a lap top.So if he has the Factory Electrical supplement which has a color coded detailed wire schematic(sp),he "could" mod his own harness.I am very sure the ref given is very good.I'm trying to save him some money is all.

A while back we were talking about convesions for trany's and the guys mentioned a company that made box's for putting AODE trany's in cars that didn't norrmally have them.
I believe that company makes that kind of kit too. Someone on here probably remembers the thread I don't off hand.
I did call and talk to them to see just how it worked, and it was slick. I had notes here but the wife came in and moved stuff around and now I can't find them.
