Sorry to hear that.I don't remember where I read it,but the spinning fan is a distraction of your eyes so you end up reaching where you shouldn't.It's kind of the way our brains are wired.

True dat.
Couple of years back a mate was telling me how he was working on a motor, and stuck a screwdriver into the fan.
It ricocheted out past his ear and hit the wall with a bang.
So he picked it up, walked back to the motor...and did it again!
"I just don't understand why I did it," he said, "I knew the dangers, but some part of my brain just closed down."
And he was no fool, in fact he is a very clever chap.
But on that day...for some reason...
