Thanks Mike, your the man. I sure wish I could have made it but sometimes have to do the right thing and keep the boss happy.
Wow a chrome explosion! back to the turkey run...
Wonder if Don, and Bill and a few others from here were there! Looks like a nice day, nice mix from your photos, thanks for posting.
Wierd Impala?????
Thanks for the pics Eric! Some really nice stuff there and like you said, some other stuff too! Any guess on how many cars they drew this year?
Bill and his family were all there, got to finally see the two Mercs Bill Sr and Jr own, they are NICE ! Bill also had his 32 there as seen in the pictures above. We were so busy running around we actually didn't get to see them until Sunday morning.
A friend from the HAMB invited my Sons and me over for Thanksgiving dinner and we usually don't like to barge in on people like that, but we went and had a wonderful meal and time. Super nice family and we felt like we were part of them.
Turkey Run seemed a little smaller this year, it appeared that less cars were just cruising around. But that might have been not accurate as Bellaire Plaza was jammed Friday and Saturday night and the event at the East side of the track was also pretty full from what we could see from the road.
We are tired, sore, and broke............but happy. :D Had a great time and spent 4 days in the swap meet area. Found lots of deals that we couldn't pass up. Don got a 3000# capacity body cart to put his 46 on, Dan found the header parts he needs to build another set of headers for his rpu, and I found a shifter for the rpu project. Those were just a few of the goodies we bought and we came home with the bed and backseat of Dans pickup filled to capacity.
We didn't get a chance to do half of what we would have liked, like meeting up with some old friends, but the time there goes by so fast and the pace is so hectic that our days consisted of getting to the track by 9 am, leaving at 4:30, taking a nap until about 8 pm, going out to eat, hitting Bellaire Plaza for an hour or so, then off to bed so we could rest up for doing it all over the next day. It was nice not having our cars to worry about and just being able to concentrate on shopping.
I also found a lot of parts to finish up the 355 sbc I have and almost bought a narrowed 9 inch rear to use on an altered project.........but my wallet was getting thin by that time.
