Thread: Ac ?

71 nova with factory air has two vents in the center of the dash,and one on each end. All the ac blows out of center vents.any ideas where to start?

I just had this happen on my daily driver. Mine had a motor in there that opened up the side vents and it had gone bad. They put a new motor on it and all the vents now push air. Not the same brand car as yours, but there is either something not directing the air where it should, or a hose has come off or is plugged up. There might even be a Y pipe on the back that feeds both end vents.

Probably can't be fixed. You should just give me that old thing, so it won't be a burdon to you.

If it'll blow air out the middle vents then the cloth hoses that supply the air to the outer vents have come disconnected or are deteriorated. You'll probaly have to remove the radio and glove box to get @ them and they can be a pain in the butt.

close the center vents and see what happens ..
