    Check the easy things first - valve covers (including breathers, pcv connections, external pcv cannisters, etc), intake china wall, sending unit, etc. New oil is very difficult to see, especially on a dark painted surface, and it will run down and follow the pan lip to the back, making it look like a rear seal.

    And don't forget the transmission dip stick tube (now, why do I know about that problem)
