    10 bolt rearend help

I am in the process of changing gears in my 1986 monte with the 10 bolt 7.5 inch ring gear. I got a good set of gears off of ebay used and reasonably priced the problem is that I need a spacer or somthing behind the ringgear to get it to mesh with the pinion and be able to get my correct backlash. Do they make such a kit and if so where do I find one. I need around 0.268" or so of spacer and longer left hand thread bolts. Would it be possible to take the spacer washer from the behind the carrier bearing out of the one side and put it in the other side and move the intire carrier over? Any input would be of great help. I am removing a 2.41 gear and installing a 3.42 gear. Thanks

I think it would be easier to find a 3 series carrier, then find a spacer, maybe from an S10.

I used a spacer like that in a '55 Chev rear in my '54 Chevy, put 4.11's in a 3.08 Posi case. That was 40 years ago, and it still works! Zoom or Richmond , I forget which , makes them for 10 bolt rears, or they did once. My cousin got one from them for a 12 bolt in a pickup.
