I'm obviously not asking you to post specifics on how you did your car, but wondering what people are using these days for on-board anti-theft security (other than big dogs or big guns)? Getting ready to start wiring soon, so I figure it will be easier now than later... Fiberglass car, so I think the capacitance proximity approach is not an option. Also using old fashioned door & trunk handles, not electric poppers, which may also limit choices?

battery cut off swicth will slow them down and a ign kill swicth. but if whey use a roll back or trailer then not much. lowjack?

linear actuator is great on the e-brake.
make sure you use limit switch to stop it properly in each direction.
or it will snap the cable when trying to set it by "feel, or sound"
also power it with a true ignition source

The linear actuator sounds cool, but I'm not sure where it would mount? My e-brake is a Lokar floor mount lever, extending through the floor. A linear actuator would be beneath the floor, exposed to the elements?? Got any pic's or???

They are sealed for the most part.
I don't have a pic of the one I did for a trailer queen.
I think a very simple shield to help keep dirt off the shaft would be fine

I use a actuator that has built in limit switches at each end of it's travel and hook to the cable with a spring so that I can't over pull the cable. I have this system on both my 27 track T and the Lakes 23 I am building now. As far as pictures, I have tried before to post pictures but with little luck. Most likley because my building skills far out weigh my computer skills.

4wd actuator controled by a hidden switch that pulls the e-brakes full on.

They used those on the big old satellite dishes that were popular back in the 80's. Might find one of those dinosaurs laying around somewhere.
