R.I.P. Larry Watson
On another group they just reported that famous striper/painter Larry Watson died.
Larry painted many of Ed Roths famous show cars, and other well known customs of the era. To me he was always that California guy who did those amazing "panel paint" jobs!
"Thanks for the inspiration, Larry! You changed the hobby!"

Real sad, I have heard of him from way back through the car magazines he always seemed like a nice guy. The old car guys are going fast. RIP

I remember seeing pictures in magazines of him when he was just a young guy starting out. He was a true artist and had his own style. It's sad, but our hobby is aging and we have lost so many of the heros we all looked up to for inspiration.

Yeah,sad for sure...I have been a fan of his paint work for many years,just never had the gonads to try it myself...:D His T bird was always a favorite of mine...Our prayers go out to his family..I am sure he has inspired many budding car painters to take up the trade...

R.I.P. Watson. Remember your work well. Saw a lot at local drive ins and shows.

A memorial service will be held in Midway City on Saturday, July 31st.
