the A body and G are about the same and can be made to hook up good on the street .that will not be the same as the track. right now my 66 hooks about the best it ever has and thats with a 632 donovan in it . the 4.500 crank in a 9.800 deck block ?your looking at a 6.385 rod or a 6.405 . for the street. a pump gas 565 or 582 would work good to. if you want it to hook you need to get away from the iron block and move to a all alum bbc thats 460lbs and is about 150+lbs less off the front end and helps alot
