I think the front end was particularly fugly.
Other than what they did with the grille...................
It's common enough of a truck, so the "ruining of a good truck" I gotta disagree. I thought the lines and shape of the truck were very impressive. Reminded me of the new Hotwheels line (though a very old hotrod concept), with the large front and tapering rear. Making it look overall cartoonish. And the metal work was great.
Though my judgement may be bias because of the good job the program did of bringing the shop people closer to the veiwer, I really liked the crew and thought they had a good feel for the way they do things.
Still want Jason Priestley to get a new job though, his narrating is killing me!
The looked great except for the flat black paint job. They may have been trying to say "ATTITUTE", but it just said "Ghetto".
I really liked the show, it was the best one so far. I really enjoyed how these guys did things with out going wild high tech. I agree with swifster, I don't care much for that flat black paint.
Pat
<<<<does not have cable:(
I thought the truck was sweet and the Color was cool to it gives it a 60s hot rod look wich I love it looks bad ass:cool: expesually with lots of crome it makes it look mean. the only thing I would not have done is put those stupid head lights in it and kept the old ones then it would have looked mint the other head lights made it look whacked like this :whacked: :whacked: or like a retarded shark or somthing two far apart but other than that they did a great job I think
Right on chevyman. Those shiney paint jobs mean nothing when compared with an old suede 60's rod. Kinda rat rod flavour. I like it
oh ya my 51 chevy is going to be flat black with all original crome covered in Louvers and Red rally rims and white walls and some flat yellow flames on the side atleast till I get the money to buy nice rims and a nice paint job but until then it will look like a bad ass 60 rod (SO Sweet I cant wate)**)
You should do satin black, it's easier to clean.
That's "Black Suede", baby...YEAH!
Anyone catch the Brizio '32 last night? I enjoyed it - wish it was a 2 -3 part show instead of cramming it into an hour (or less, with commericals). Favorite one so far.
Jordan
I liked the way he did the car. It would stand out amongst other 32' Deuces cause a the way he lengthened the wheelbase 2 inches, and that paint was cool.
Hey Jordan, even though the show themes are different, notice how there wasn't any of the tension like on OCC or AHR. I realize part of it is the build time allotted, but still. Brizio really is as nice as he seemed in that show, and those guys working there have been with him quite a while...............a real juxtaposition to the Boydster.
I thought the show was good. Brizio seems like a builder thats intouch with the times and his customers. That jason priestly has to go, whenever he talks i start falling asleep, man i would be excited to be doing any of these shows, wheres Dennis Gage when you need him. That american hotrod was on last night with boydd codington, scripted garbage, not an impressive build as compared to brizio, rides is a much better show

Yes I did Bob, obviously Brizio is a first class operation as mentioned before. I admit to loving American Chopper, but not for the bikes (not going to rehash everything thats been said before).
Gauge would be good, how about Tim Allen? I think he would be perfect for Priestly's spot.
I have to say that this must be the best TV season yet for a car/Bike guy - having only one TV in the house (currently live in an appt) the wife and I had to get TIVO because AC/AH and Rides (plus that gold star racing, which I also got suckered into) conflict with that reality garbage she loves to watch.
I hope they do similar shows at Cornhuskers, Socal e.t.c.
By the way - this week's episode of Trucks is great - even if you dont like trucks/4x4s, you have to appreciate Stacy (sp).
I wonder if next year's B-Jackson will reflect the "pop culture" effect of these shows, walking home yesterday I saw a 2 minute commercial for American Chopper and American Hotrod on a 40 foot screen in Times Square. Damn, that 56 Chevy looked even nicer in 2x scale :)
Jordan
I hate to admit it, but i diddnt see the show. Anyone got a picture?
I did see the Brizio show last night... What can I say, it made me want to jump in the Roadster and go for a spin... Too bad it was only about 20 degrees last night!!!
What a great show (other than JP), I think they do a great job on this series and it fills a great prgraming void on Tuesday nights... :)
Dave Brisco
It just so happens that I only saw the last half of both the ’56 pickup show and the Brizio show last night. Not to take anything away from the “artistic” approach used by the builders of the ’56 (cut, chop, shape, and figure it out as you go), but I really like Brizio’s approach of a methodical and well planned build-up. The ’32 was a real good looker, and I’m sure that it’s a good “driver” too.
Bob, I think the tension, or “drama”, on Boyd’s show distracts from the show’s content too.... At least the guys on the chopper show have a bit of “personality” to take the edge off the conflicts. Boyd and some of the other folks on AHR don’t look like they’re “acting” when the tension rises.
Dan J
And hey Dave Brisco, taking a roadster cruise in winter... that’s what your earmuffs and mittens are for
 :D
I Did'nt catch Rides last night, but JP shure does sownd boring on the comercials. Me and the Guys at work sure do Like to watch them Clowns at O.C.C If it wasnt for Mike and his antics that show would'nt be half as good. This summer some guys went out to the anniversary for Harly Davidson in Milwaukee, and talked to those guys. He said that they are a bunch of jackasses, if you can beleive that. It's still fun to watch them guys argue though.
I just thought some of you might want to see how the cut up ’56 pickup turned out after the boys at the shop had a little time to “finish” the project ;) The pickup was on display at the NSRA Nationals last week, so I took a couple of pictures.
OK, here we go... Did these guys ruin a good “ole school” hot rod, or did they finally get the job “finished”?
Sorry, but I couldn’t find any of the original pictures for a “before and after” comparison. You’ll just have to go by memory for the “before” version.

Another view....
And the front...
that show was a repeat they ended up painting it a bright redQuote:

OOPS should of read on posted my quote to soon .Any way I thought It one bad ass truck like to see some one do something diffrent:cool:
cool looking......... ?....?. But , looks like they should have followed the lines a lttle more ?........ maybe cut the cab .... even with the bed ? .... just my opinion .
neat look'n none the less but that throws me off ........ ?
Not my style, but it's not my truck either. My only gripe with them is they cut up a big window cab, which aren't that common. They could have easily found a plentiful small window cab and ended up with the same results.
I will agree with that one bob
I'm not a chebbie guy, but that truck looks pretty good.
I hope Don Severson don't mind me using his "Chebbie" slang........lol!
Neat truck, think I would have done something different with the headlights and the grille, but is a different look. The concept itself is way kewl, much as I hate to say that about a chebbbie.
