:toocool:I went to the nsra northern nationals this weekend in kalamazoo and entered my ford truck.I had several hours to walk around as well a my dad who had gone with me.we were walking around sunday morning looking at all the nice street rods when my dad stopped and pointed out this nice looking anglia.the anglia looked like many of the other street rods chrome wheels.shiny black paint and such.then my dad said it had a 4 cylinder flathead motor.I thought no way.the owners was standing near and said have a look so I looked under the side curtain hood he had lifted.sure enough the motor was about twice the size of the generator.I must have looked shocked.then my dad informed me It was rated at 10 horsepower.I figured he was yankin my chain.then the owner informed me that was true.he said the car had enough power with that little 10 horse that appeared to be the original motor.thinking about it my cheap riding lawnmower has more horsepower than that car.you never can judge a book by its cover

DAW! I hate it when that happens...Can't imagine what 10HP would do. My Model A with 26HP is a putter, and that's 2.5 times more HP.

Hehe, I had a Fiat 500 with something like 18hp. Had to get a running start at steep hills and plan the down shifts just right or I had to turn around, go back down, and try again. :LOL:

But, didn't all Anglias come with blown Hemis already installed? :D

Oohh,you poor under priveliged people...:D I had an original Ford 10,also known as a Ford Pop,[Popular]Anglias sister,when I was a school,as my first car,in 1969.As New Zealand was flooded with English cars,they were what everyone drove,with the exception of those who could afford an American car..Yeah,no need for a neck brace in one of those little skinny gutted cruisers,but they were real easy to roll on a corner,if you were unlucky enough,:D ask me...
But you could still get in trouble with the law,especially if you were going down hill with a tail wind..
When I sold mine,,I heard a few years later that it had been rodded and had the obligatory SBC and auto,narrowed 9''etc stuffed into it,as such was the case with most of these.
Actually,Blowby,on this forum built one up many years ago,when he lived in this neck of the woods,ask him if he still has pix of it...
