ANYBODY HAD ANY EXPERIENCE PUTTING A 34 FORD FOUR BAR FRONT SUSPENSION SET UP IN A 35-37 FORD. I KNOW IT WILL PUT THE WHEELS FARTHER FORWARD AND I'M PLANNING ON RUNNING FENDERLESS. I'M WONDERING IF I WILL HAVE TO DO ANYTHING TO THE CROSSMEMBER BECAUSE IT IS TOO LOW OR TOO HIGH. THE FOUR BAR SETUP IS SO MUCH CHEAPER FOR THE 34.
Not only does it mount the axle farther forward, but it also RAISES the front end around 3 inches, not the direction most rodders go.
I'm not sure what you're basing your prices on. I look in the Speedway catalog and there the later setup is about $30 more than the early. But by the time you spend $40 for perch bolts, the cost actually swings the other way?!
I ALREADY HAVE A STAINLESS STEEL FOUR BAR SETUP FROM CHASSIS ENG. SPRING AND ALL. DIDN'T THINK IT WOULD RAISE IT THAT HIGH. THINK MAYBE I CAN RAISE THE CROSSMEMBER TO MAKE UP FOR IT?
When you go off the reservation you just have to mock it up and figure it out.
You should have asked questions BEFORE you bought the wrong setup. Would you buy wheels that didn't fit because they were cheaper than the ones that did?
You could mount the front end "suicide" style like you see on most T-buckets. Your stainless bars will be too short to work properly. (The shorter bars are probably why it was cheaper.) and the rear mounts will have to be scrapped and new ones fabricated.
It might be best to sell what you have and buy the right setup for the car you have. If they're all new unused parts you can recover most of your money on ebay. 34 Ford parts sell good on ebay.

BEEN OFF THE RESERVATION FOR QUITE A WHILE NOW THANK YOU, AND THE FOUR BAR SETUP IS JUST WHAT I'VE BEEN LOOKING FOR. WHY WOULD I WANT TO MOUNT IT SUICIDE STYLE? SEEMS EASY ENOUGH TO RAISE THE CROSSMEMBER (IT'S GOT A BIG CENTER DROP). I JUST DON'T KNOW ABOUT CLEARING THE LOWER PULLEYS ON THE 350 CHEVY MOTOR, BUT THEN THAT IS WHY I'M ASKING BEFORE I GET A CHANCE TO GET TO THIS PROJECT. IF I CHANNEL THE BODY ON THE FRAME AND MOVE THE WHEELS FORWARD (WHICH MOVES THE ENGINE TOWARDS THE CENTER OF THE 37 TRUCK) IT SHOULD HANDLE PRETTY GOOD FOR AN OLD CLUNKER. I'M REALLY ANXIOUS TO START ON THIS BUT I'VE GOT A DOGHOUSE AND TWO CHOPPERS TO FINISH FIRST. EVERYTHING ELSE ON THE SUSPENSION IS A COPY OF CHASSIS ENGINERING COMPONENTS INCLUDING REAR SPRINGS, MOTOR/TRANS MOUNTS, ETC.
You didn't say it was a truck. The truck frame is more like the 34 car frame so those four bars might work on it. A 29 to 34 car front crossmember would bring it back down by raising the spring mounting location.
Bolt the front end to the crossmember before you weld it in. Then you can move it forward or back a little till the rear four bar mounts line up best with the frame. You might have to notch the bottom of the frame for spring clearance.
I've seen a few 35 to 37 fenderless trucks and they make a mean looking hotrod.
So I guess you don't want to buy a nice set of six lug Wheels I won in a raffle huh?

I HAVE A 35 FORD SEDAN BUT I DON'T WANT TO CUT IT UP JUST YET. THE TRUCK FRAME TO MY UNDERSTANDING IS THE SAME AS THE CAR EXCEPT FOR MINOR DIFFERENCES. THE TRUCK IS MY CHANCE TO GET RADICAL, CHOP TOPS AND HAVE FUN.
