howdy and i have a question

i know this is insane but i am currently trying to put together a 1984 chevette what i want to do i dont know if it can be done so any input would be greatly appreciated

i would like to put a 4.3 V6 twin turbo in the car i have a transmission that will bolt up to it but any ideas on how bad the mods will be to make this happen i also plan to drag the car so i have had the roll cage built already just need to put it in more or less i have the fule cell and am about to send it out for tubbing and ford 9 inch for the rear end i have a great start but can use all the advice i can get

I have seen this done to a chevett, get a truck frame, change suspension and shorten, remove unneded support, take a 350 and a muncie 4 spd out of a 70's camero and bolt everything in. You got a rocket that is heavy but will make up for it in hp's and torq. Or I could say, leave it stock and get going about 60- 70 Mph and run it into a tree and then get a real car. Just kidding about that, if you could make it look visually stock it would be a killer sleeper on the street also, really how many chevetts do you know of that is a true 13.00 second car? you would achive this approx with a 350.

well right now i have a fiero front end to put on it becuase it pretty much bolts up to the original mounts i havent gotten that far into it yet i do have a welder that is going to tub and replace the mounts and restructure the frame so it isnt as weak as a normal chevette i have done some homework and found out that rather cheaply i can build a mid 90s 3.8 twin turbo and get 550 HP out of it with some minor mods on it in turn i can have a hyperactive lil car that sleeps well when it needs to

I saw a Chevy LUV pickup at a drag strip with a 454 stuffed in the front of it. I want it. Ran fast too, I think it was in the 10's.

I did see a chevette with a tube frame and a 502 with a 700r4 auto in it at the dragstrip when I was in Redding California. It had a hard mounted front axle, and a currie rear in it. It never seemed to hook up,maybe the wheelbase was just too short, that or the driver was just pitifull, it only ran in the high 13's.

The 3.8 you talk of, is it Buick? Cause Holden (GM) use a 3.8 litre V6 in their Commodore (derived from a buick), 5 seat family sedan, rear wheel drive. (Dime a dozen) they run a supercharged version from factory, there are also some aftermarked mobs doing the mod, some with a A/C compressor pulley, to switch it on and off.

pretty much any GM 3.8 or 4.3 can be built for a chevette i dont want to do a V8 becuase they are done alot and if i can get a 550 HP 3.8 or 4.3 v6 with a single turbo or twin turbo i think that would be more than enough to move that little car i will look more into the full frame work with tubing and such to see how well that might work i will ask my welder sometime this week what he thinks about it the only real problem i see with it is it is a 4 door but that just adds some weight to the car so that will help alot in the long run for a toy to drive around town but my main concern is wbout building the motor should i go for the 3.8 or 4.3 the 4.3 is pretty wicked bone stock in one of the little S10's i have found some intakes and carbs to fit one here in town for around 300 bucks today so just a carter 1100 CFM and an eld intake both used but still if they check out good they can be useful i would love to Duel Quad a v6 or build an intake to hold 6 1100 honda carbs 1 per cylinder we did that with a str8 6 motor a few years ago an old 292 it screamed in a Quarter for a buick apollo it was running 10.2
