Updated Speedster Pictures
Since so many members have been helping me with my latest project I thought I'd post some pictures of the speedster.
The body is an old fiberglass shell that was likely intended for use as a VW conversion. It resembles a 1925 Bugatti T-35. When I got it it had been chopped up pretty good.
The 170 cu. inline 6, 3 spd. top loader and 8" rear are all from a '63 Fairlane that I got off ebay for $100.
Chassis and suspension are a combo of swap meet, ebay, and Speedway parts that consist of Model A style front spring with late 30's Ford I-beam with 4" drop, Model T style rear spring and a Speedway/Wilwood spindle and disc brake kit. It'll have Kurtis style radius rods front and rear and I hope to run friction shocks.
With an expected total weight of around 1500 lbs. I think the 6 should propel it decent enough. And with the 21" x 4" Ford spokes I'll be sure to run out of traction before I run out of power.
Planned engine mods will be a custom fab'd 6 into 1 header running along the outside of the body and a cam coming from either Isky or Schneider.
I haven't decided on a color yet, but with the yellow wheels, I was leaning towards a Ford blue which would somewhat resemble the Penske/Sunoco T/A colors.

Thanks guys! It's been a long road. Fun doing finishing work for sure. Getting the dash ready for paint and some interior trim. Have to do some finish work on the aluminum headliner before...
