T42 that is a very nice lookin door panel. What's the miniture red button do?
Good lookin' door panel, T42!
Congratulations,
Jim
That is a good question, Stovens. I'm glad you asked it. It got me thinking.
Some possibilities: (1) Ejection seat activator switch in case somebody like my daughter is driving the car (or maybe to demonstrate hostility toward the first person who smokes in the car after the new interior is in).(2) Triggering device for an "anti-BS spray" system to neutralize comments by somebody in the car who says that you did yours all wrong and you should have done it the way he did his. (3) Auxiliary outside air ventilation system off-on switch to minimize the atmospheric effect caused by the guy who doesn't hit the shower with sufficient regularity. This would also provide protection against the discomfort caused by a person whose diet consists mainly of beans.
Yeah! There could be several reasons for that button.
Jim
BINGO!!!..... I was gonna say it's a self destruct button but Pat spoiled it!!!! When I got the car the door and trunk handles were already shaved but no means of opening were installed (had to reach in thru the vent window to open the doors!) So I installed remote electric door and trunk poppers. Got the door kit with remote for $99 and the trunk solenoid (which can be wired into the remote sensor) for $25 on my favorite place to shop....Ebay! Very easy install BTW.....:)
PS....Here's a few shots of the 51 in my front yard, for those of you who missed the post when I bought it......

Did you sew all those pleats?!? Is there a trick you should be sharing with us?
That came out great and very traditional too. :)
Don
I'm impressed and it takes a lot to impress me. :D
Thanks guys! Don, I got the upholstery on ebay and it is supposed to be remnents of replacement material for a 60's vehicle. I really liked the small 1" pleat. It does have a more traditional look.
BUT.....(as it was pointed out to me on another forum) I screwed up!! I installed the drivers door armrest
on the Passenger side!!! OMG!! I guess Ill just have to start all over again now!!.....:eek::LOL:
