12 bolt Differential ?
I’m trying to make a decision on what kind of differential to run, so what works for you on a street car?
GM 12 bolt.
Clutch style posi (Stock or HD after-market)
Gear type locker (Detroit)
Worm gear locker (Truetrac)
Spool
Open (one tire fire)

Personally, in a light car, I would run a clutch type posi.
I have a Detroit in the jeep (dana 60 axles) and it is a bit of a distraction when it locks/unlocks.....gets twichy.
A spool is not really practical and an open rear differential is an obvious hinderance.

Well, if $$$$$$$$'s not an issue, Strange Engineering makes a drop out center section that uses 12 bolt gears and posi units (factory or aftermarket) and bolts into a Ford (or aftermarket copy) nine inch housing.
If buckaroos are a consideration go with a nine inch.
Either way use a posi unit for the streetBuying parts I don't need, with money I don't have, to impress people I don't like

Clutch style.
Welcome to CHR. I think that you need to hook up your vacuum advance. At part throttle when cruising you have less air and fuel in each cylinder, and the air-fuel mixture is not as densely packed...
