Wow, just wow!!

I've learned in life that just when you start thinking you are great someone comes along to bring you back down to earth. This thread is running on the HAMB, and I don't think Langy will mind me posting it here, we've exchanged PM's before and he is a really nice guy...............and EXTREMELY talented.

Well after reading that entire thread, I think I would have to give Steve the Detailer / Builder of the Year Award (if there is such a thing) or at least the British equivalent of it. Maybe a tad too much green metal flake for me, but then I wouldn't expect otherwise from a Limey, unless it was BRG of course.:cool:

Well, thanks, Ken would be able to give him a run for his money, but that stuff is WAY out of my league. I know my limitations, I build basic cars. When I see someone like this who takes such great pains to do little details and who have so much creativity, it really drives home that point even more. I'm like a pair of brown loafers at a black tie affair.:o:D:D

It is a nice car for the pics that I had that opened. But the front cam crossmember?? I thought it was a little off the mark for the car???

I guarantee you he has some serious cash (pounds in GB) in that car. When I was stationed over there I knew a guy that had his 76' firebird painted and it cost him a whopping $20,000 to have it painted..That’s not including the bird sticker on the hood. He bought that in the stated when he was on leave for $1000.00 and when he got back and tried to put it on it got ripped and wrinkled. He went to have it made in England and paid $2500.00 for the same one. I’m not even going to ask how much money does he have tied up in shipping and handling for parts from the US for that car...$$$$$$

That wasn't my favorite part of the car either, I have to admit, but at least he had it chromed and detailed with more green paint. Like any other build, there are things we all would do differently, but this guy is a madman when it comes to details. He must work with stainless a lot because some of those one-off pieces he made look like a factory turned them out. Too much work for me, I even get tired dialing 1-800-car-parts. :o:D:D

Hi Guys, just got a link to this site which i didn't know about so popped in for a look around, My name is Steve Lang and i'm just just a guy in the U.K. that enjoys building Hotrods and nothing more, Thanks for the kind comments as they are appreciated.

As for the money i have in this car i don't mind telling that it is £11,000 which at the moment is 16,029.78 USD, its the most expensive car i've built for myself but i've kept the cost down by doing everything myself apart from the trimming.

Not as much as you thought i bet ?

Hey Steve, thanks for posting and welcome to the forum. As you can tell by our reactions, your workmanship has us in awe. You and I have BS'd a bit over on the HAMB via PM's, and I always liked your previous cars, but this one really jumps out. I bet when you take it to a cruise or show people will be standing around it for a long time finding new details.

Thanks for the welcome Don, i like the site, havn't had much time to look around but what i've seen looks pretty cool.

I just do what i do for me if other people also like it thats a valued bonus.

Steve, please post up some pictures of your other cars. Like most forums, we LOVE pictures, especially nice cars like you build. Unless we underestimate the amount of hot rod parts available overseas, it has to be tough to collect all of the parts you need to do these. I live in Florida and have trouble sometimes! :LOL:

Its 11.30 Don, having a laptop in my workshop helps :LOL:

I will post some pics later, getting parts used to be difficult but the WWW has helped big time, I'm a Speedway dealer in the U.K. and deal with most of the major U.S. suppliers who are all great.

I have a great deal with a air freight firm here and get most parts in 2-3 days

My vote for starters would be pics of the wife's rpu and some of that stainless chassis bling for the T coupe.........................just a request.:D

Firstly my T Bucket, I built this in 1999 as an exercise as someone said to me that you couldn't build a nice rod under £7,000 so i built this for £5,000, It wasn't easy but buying the right parts got me there. I really love this little car and it has seen some serioius abuse over the years, it runs regular 12.6 on the quarter and also won a slalom competition last year so it handles as well.

To be honest Don my favourite pic of Sue's car is this one below, It was her idea to fit the Radir wheels which i personally don't like on the car, When i built it it was intended to look like an old Rod redone.
