Questions about possible t bucket purchase

I went and checked out a 23 t bucket today, its a total performance chassis with a body from total performance but it doesn't have the little "trunk" to it, just a tub, the chassis is in primer, the body is in gelcoat. He has a 7.5" rear (not what i'd put in) with drum brakes and a disc brake set up for the front. no windshield, no wiring done, has the steering box and drilled a hole to have hte steering wheel on a slant instead of straight up like stock, has the master cyclinder mounted and the brake petal but no pad or gas pedal. Its basicly a rolling chassis. He wants 2500 for the car and he has someone coming to look tomorrow. I'm going to see if he'll take a down payment and wait until i get the rest of the money but i really would like to get the car. What do you guys think about the price? sound fair? i'm not up on these at all, i've always wanted one and saw it and i think the price is right. Thanks for the help.

Sounds like a good deal. The price is about half of what it cost, check out tperfomance web site for more info. It still will take a lot of money to complete it, probably $5,000 if you can get all the hook ups. Of course you can always look for a cheap donor. Most any 70's GM car is a good canidate, drivers are better. Guess it depends on what you want when it is done. I started mine with a $500 frame and body deal at the swap meet. Scored a free rear axle, engine and tranny from a friend and some other deals. Good luck and have fun, there are not too many rules to building these things other than make it safe.

He said he's got some financial issues (dont we all), and I don't care about building my own. It still would basicly be my car because he didn't do anything to it besides put the brakes and the rear in. I'm in it because i've always wanted one, its a good start for what i want to do, and its cheap.

Hey it sounds like a good starting place for someone wanting to build a fad T and 2500 sounds like a fair price. Bit of warning though if youve never owned a T there a bit cramped. I got rid of my '18's seat so id sit up against the back to have more room, either that or have the seat real high and I just dont like that look.

lol, forgive me I'm new to it all.

Well I told the guy i'd call him after a week but it was killing me so i had to call him back (this was 3 hours after seeing it). I asked if he'd hold it and how much to hold it. He said whatever i could give him, so i said all i have is 200 but i could bring it out tomorrow. He said sure sounds good I'll write you a recept.

Yay! now i just have to come up with the 2300 and its sitting in my garage. I'm so excited about this, like a dream come true.
